Hello. This is a blog.

Okay, here's the deal. The reason I've been neglecting my blog for nearly a month is the daunting fact that so much has happened and I haven't given my account of any of it. So I keep thinking I'm going to do this big post where I try to recall and write about all the things that I've done and that have happened to me, and then I realize I don't have the energy for that large of a post, and it just doesn't happen. I've started several times, always with the same outcome.

So I've decided on a compromise (sort of). I'll pick up with my blogging again, right now, as if nothing at all has happened to me in the past four weeks, and if there's an event I need to recall for reasons pertaining to current events, I'll give a brief recollection so we're on the same page. Deal? Okay.

So. Currently. My classes this term (a good place to start, I feel, since I'm working on homework for them at the moment) are Web Design for Graphic Design II, Advanced Image Manipulation, Crime Scene Investigation, and Advanced Illustration. In Web Design, I get to build a portfolio site for myself, which I'm kind of excited about (although I'm sure it's going to be a lot of work). Image Manip. is pretty cool, since the teacher is pretty laid back with a good sense of humor. Illustration is kind of neat, too, but we have to do an illustration every week, and I'm not used to making all sorts of art stuffs at a fairly quick pace. This week, we have to come up with something illustrating the concept "Tragedy at the zoo." Paul's got a few ideas out, and I'm still dry...

It's been an interesting weekend. Paul's family (cousin, cousin's daughter, other cousin's husband, aunt and uncle) are down in Vancouver, staying at our house, because "other cousin" hit her head on the bottom of a pool and broke her neck. She's okay, not paralyzed or dead, but she's getting spinal surgery tomorrow morning. I saw her this afternoon; she was coherent, but it was painful to look at. She has bolts in her head and a neck brace to keep her from moving her head at all. She can't entirely move her right arm, but she can move it some; when it first happened she couldn't move it at all. But yes, it's been a bit loud and a bit busy down here in the basement, since "cousin" and "cousin's daughter" (mainly "cousin's daughter," age 8) are down here fairly often, visiting with us. We haven't gotten a ton of homework done this weekend.

I have to say, I do feel much better that I'm finally getting a blog completed. I think I'll have a much easier time keeping it current, since I'm not dreading doing a huge update. Sorry, I'm kind of lazy sometimes (oftentimes...).

I want a Mac. Just to let you know. That would be awesome.
