Unexpected Spontaneity

It's unbelievable, but I am tired again. Guess how many hours of sleep I got last night? Eighteen. Yeah, you read that right. I didn't know it was possible, but I got eighteen hours of sleep in one night. And I forced myself to get out of bed... I could have slept longer! Jeeze! Well, it's not as crazy when you consider I didn't sleep at all the night before, but still. It's pretty crazy.

So... yesterday was awesome. See, I was up all night the night before because I was finishing homework for my morning class. And I didn't even finish... I'm such a slow-poke. Anyway, we're about an hour, hour-and-a-half into my morning class, some annoying girl is giving her presentation for the day, and then all of the computers turn off at once. Lights too. Power outage! They don't come back on immediately, so the teacher gives us a 20 min. break. Paul, Ryan, Jesse and I wander onto the street, and notice the building across the street doesn't have power either. Neither do the traffic lights. Hmm... So, we get back to class, and Kathleen (teacher) has found out that the near-by construction workers have drilled through a power line! So, she lectured us for another twenty minutes, and set us free. Paul, Ryan and I went to Backspace to play some pool, then to get some food somewhere. Then we split up, because Paul had to go back to Backspace, Ryan had to go home for a bit, and I had to finish some homework. But when Ryan and I got back to the school, we found signs posted everywhere saying school was closed! For the rest of the day! Which meant I didn't have to do my homework for that night's class, and we were free to do whatever we wanted!!

So, Ryan and I waited for Paul to come back, we called Meggan, and all trekked down to PSU for a few games of pool. It's a neat place, they have a bowling alley, air hockey, pool tables by the hour, and arcade games. It's a cheap little fun place to hang out.

Then Ryan left, and the three of us left shortly after, on our way to Target. Meggan needed to buy a vacuum, and I needed school supplies. So, we were hanging out in Target for a while, and they have the neatest things for your house! I'm seriously going major-shopping there once I get my own place. Anyway, we get Meggan's vacuum, take her back to her place, get in the door... and find a vacuum there, waiting for her, signed "from management." See, the reason she needed the vacuum was because her and Daniel clean up the hallways for the building they live in, and they requested a vacuum from management, but they haven't heard anything in several months. It just figures that the day she goes to buy one is the day they decide to give her one. Hahaha, oh well.

Anyway, as soon as we got home that evening I fell asleep. From 5 pm 'till 12:30 am, then from 1 am 'till 11:30. So much sleep! Paul didn't even sleep as much as I did, if you can believe that... But anyway, for some reason I'm tired again, so I'm going to bed now. Goodnight!

Making Chicken

It's 11 at night, Paul and I are both starving, so I'm making dinner. Yes, at this hour.

The state I am in

Today was an awesome day. Yesterday was even better (it was sunny).

I still have the place to myself, Paul doesn't come home until tomorrow evening. I think it's hilarious that he completely forgot about this trip he and his dad were taking. I had no clue at all, until he left yesterday morning. So tonight is quiet again. But I've been keeping busy. Last night I straightened the place up a bit. Today I did laundry, tomorrow I'll do dishes. I planned on doing homework tonight... But Meggan asked if I wanted to come over so we could do it together, so it can wait until tomorrow.

Tonight I've already had two pieces of chocolate and a bowl of ice cream, chocolate syrup on top. Make me stop... I was supposed to give this stuff up with the old year. I've stayed away from soda. And I've given up most fast food... it's been about once a week (which is great considering the 7+ times/week before I left). Just from not eating out in three weeks, I lost ten pounds, and hit my goal weight. I haven't weighed that much since high school. And I was feeling good, but I haven't been very active lately, nor have I been eating very healthily. I don't own a scale, but I feel bleh. Time to start paying attention to what I do to my body again!

In other news, I got this little plant-thingy for Christmas. It's called an "Egg Plant," and it's a bean sprout inside of an egg... with a secret message printed on the plant once it sprouts! Amazing. I took it out of the box today, I think I'll start growing it. I wonder how they get the message on the leaf? Who on earth ever thought of such a thing?! A plant, growing inside an egg, with a secret message for you. Weird. (Oh, and don't worry, there's no white or yolk inside the egg. Just soil and a sprout. It's not that gross)

Bleh, I have been listening to Radiohead ALL DAY. I love it, and that's why I've left it on, but it really puts you in an odd mood. Time for something new... Alright, I just threw together a totally sweetus* 80s pop mix. Wooo! Too bad there haven't been any dance parties around for months... they went out of style with war manatees, apparently. Or maybe it has something to do with the fact that the good people of The Familiy keep moving away... Either way, I miss those days.

I was supposed to get new music last night, but there was something of a misunderstanding, so I'm left with nothing new. I can't even download anything properly, because any program I try to download for the acquiring of music has some sort of strange problem with me. Anyone have any recommendations? I'm open at this point, the regulars I use aren't accessible to me.

Hm, I'm really losing all my thought trains at this point. I think I'll throw in another load of laundry and call it a night.

Hope you're enjoying your night! Get some sleep, you! It's late.

*Sweetus = a word Paul made up. Ask him about it sometime. It's become a part of both of our vocabularies, unfortunately...

I can't think of a subject title right now, because it's way too quiet...

It's been a while! I need to update everything so I can try to stay at least somewhat on top of this. Since I'm so far behind, I'll just try to give you a brief account of what's happened in the past few weeks. A consise summary. The ultra-abridged version.

Well, hm. Let's start with New Year's Eve. It was quiet, I stayed home with my parents. I had to get up early the next morning to go to Sacramento, so I didn't really want to go out and party anyway. But guess what-- my mom gave me a beer. Two of them! That was a very big deal. Hahaaa....

So, the next morning, I caught the plane to Florida at five in the evening, got there at five in the morning. And Florida. Was. Awesome. So much fun. It was sunny and warm, I had a blast hanging out with my brother, my sisters, and their families, and I got to ride a Harley. Woo! It was great. I was only there for a week before I had to go back, but the morning of my flight my sister and I were running late. So, I missed my flight. And spent the next twelve hours in the airport on stand-by. Oh well, luckily I was still in Orlando, instead of stranded in Chicago where I don't know anyone. So I stayed in Florida another two nights (making me miss two classes) and got home safely on Tuesday afternoon.

Oh yeah, hah, I dyed my hair! Blue-black. So when Paul got out of class to come and see me, he didn't even recognize me. Silly boy. It looks good, though. Take my word for it.

Hm, then I had class on Wednesday and Thursday... Hung out with Meggan and Daniel one night. We played Harry Potter Scene It?, which is what I got for Christmas from Paul's cousin. It was fun. Then the next day we hung out with Ryan, when he bought us dessert from Moonstruck. Oh man. If you have not yet experienced the pleasures and delights of Moonstruck, then you should find one and go NOW. I know of at least two in Portland. Go there.

Hm, then there was lots of homework (already)... More class, more hanging out with friends.

It was a great break, and it seemed to last months. But I'm really glad to finally be home again (home being Portland, since I don't really have a "home" right now. I'm working on it, though).

Oh YEAH... the last night I was in Florida, we went to go see the movie "Hostel." Do NOT go see this movie. Sure, it has well-done gore. But it really is a waste of money. I never say this about movies. Please take my word on this one.

Anyway, currently: I am home alone this weekend. Paul's dad showed up randomly this morning as I was about to leave and took Paul away to "get away from it all" this weekend. Then went up to a day-spa somewhere in the mountains, and then they're going hiking tomorrow. So it is REALLY QUIET right now, and I am EXTREMELY BORED. What's a girl to do? Homework? Pah. Don't think so. Where does that boy keep the liquor?
